I had an insightful Shalom session with life-coach Brandy Walker, and here’s a poem/blessing she wrote for me at the end of it. Lovely, isn’t it?
A Blessing for You and Your Book
Breathe, sweet Anita, and know that you
Are enough.
Just the way you are. Bright eyes. Kind smile. Warm heart.
The words in your soul are gifts to bless you and the rest of the world.
But
Even if you never shared them
You’d still be enough.
You would still be loved beyond measure,
More than you could ever fathom.
It’s okay to oversleep. To take a break.
To garden! It’s okay to cry.
Your mission is holy,
But it is not you.
You are enough.
So beautiful. So much more than words on a screen.
So much more than your number of your Twitter followers.
May this book be your joy.
May it give you deep pleasure to share your stories and
This marvelous history with all who are blessed to encounter it.
May you be able to let go of the grasping for perfect
And settle into the wonder of creative exploration.
May this book change lives and perspectives
And leave the world a little better than it was before you wrote it.
Even if there is a typo.
Or, especially if there is a typo!
May a little girl fall into its pages and
Dare to dream that she, too, can someday write a book of her own.

Wow, what a beautiful blessing! It makes me long to read the finished book and to dare to dream that this ‘old girl’ might one day write one too!
