Rabbits are SO social. We had our buck, Bandito, neutered, since he had performed his fatherly duty and fathered a litter of 4, which were all we wanted. The vet suggested that he be kept in isolation for 10 days, so that the other bunnies did not lick him and open his wounds, and so that he did not run around so much.
So we isolated him. He just sat, sad and dejected in his cage, refusing to eat or drink, and we really thought we has going to die. Another expensive trip to the vet.
Then we put his smaller cage into the large condo in which the other 4 rabbits were. They sweetly crowded around him, and he came to life, standing on his back paws, looking at them, while they tried to make contact through the bars. He started moving and frisking again.
I think he will be okay.
