Jung said somewhere that busyness is not just from the Devil; it is the Devil.
And the biggest downside of owning a business is the inevitable busyness.
The upside is the creativity it calls forth; the buzz when one’s hunches work; and the pleasure of being able to realize dreams, in my case– travel, learning languages, taking classes in interesting subjects, material dreams: a conservatory, and provide opportunities for one’s children:private school, educational opportunities, through one’s hard work and inspirations.
However, once the muchness and strain of busyness is removed or reduced, the soul springs up like grass and buttercups trampled underfoot.
It rises to thoughts of God. It sings.
