I was encouraged by your story of trying out various careers before coming back to writing. Failure can be a heavy burden when you seek to obtain what you feel is the best place. Finally, you come to the end of yourself, never finding fulfillment. You are brought to the conclusion that you must lean on the Everlasting arms of our Lord. Only when we put all in the hands of the Lord can we find direction, purpose and peace.

I’ve had a lifetime of experiences where I tried so hard to be the best but never met the expectations I placed on myself. Only when I submitted to the Lord’s call and gave Him all my desires, could I have the inner peace in my spirit. It is now the only way to be of use to God’s Kingdom. Thanks for your words and wisdom.

In reply to Grace Biskie. Thanks, Grace. You are a naturally gifted writer. It is possible minority and immigrant women have a harder time being self-confident with writing and etc., but eventually, of course, confidence comes and we treasure it more because it was hard-won.

Bravo Anita! Leaving it in God’s hands is a great place to be. I have personally struggled with my writing wondering why in the world would God want a former math teacher and software engineer to write. I started with a book idea and then a blog. I questioned myself everyday, and in the end He is using it to purify my motives. My writing may not be perfect, but my heart is pure on why I write. All for Jesus.

Such a GREAT post! I love this line, “He has moved from the realm of addition, of what we can achieve with our
puny efforts, to the realm of multiplication, of what can happen if God
steps in to bless us.” wow, that’s deep.

Also, I love reading about your journey through writing. I find that to be the case too. I’m at the “yeah” whatever phase. I’m sick of trying too hard. and mostly just sick of myself. =) Now, I’m just seeking faithfulness over success. I just try & rehearse that prayer, ‘Lord make me faithful to you, not to the slavery of success.’

What a great place to be. and yes, failure has gotten me here.
