Andy, it's lovely to hear from you again, though I have been so desultory in my blogging (working on a long project which I hope to finish in the summer of 2021, which seems so far away now!!). Yes, I do find it useful to listen to a little Scripture on my walks, partly to focus my wandering thoughts on something life-giving when I find myself thinking about boring, worrying or annoying things! :-)

I love to set with my Bible first thing in the morning in my dressing gown and with a mug of jasmine tea. Lately, however, I have noticed some slightly worrying signs of getting older and have decided to store your lovely advice in my memory for future use. I have the YouVersion Bible app on my mobile phone which has many versions to choose from, some with audio track, albeit with American accents. I also love David Suchet’s voice. Who knows I may take up your suggestion before long, and I’ll think of you as I do. Many thanks. 🙏🏼

Rhoda, it's always fab to hear from you. I still remember dinner at yours, with all those wonderful children.
I use Audible https://www.audible.co.uk/ or https://www.audible.com/

I love David Suchet's narration of the NIV bought on Amazon . A most gorgeous voice.

And, of course, I love Eugene Peterson's Message bought on Amazon.

I love this: 'The bookish and scholarly are to love God in their bookish, scholarly and boffinly way for that’s how we are made.' That sounds like me!! What a beautiful place to walk though! I love that idea. What do you use to listen to the Bible with? An app? Anything in particular?
