I remember vaguely trying to read the Bible before I met the Lord Jesus as my Saviour, and struggling to make sense of it, then after my salvation experience it all made wonderful exciting sense…I couldn’t get enough of it….wrote especially inspiring excerpts onto pieces of card and stuck them on the walls of my bed-sit so I could look at them all the time. How amazing scripture is…even now, 37 years later, I so enjoy reading my bible in so many different translations that are now available. I agree with your verdict completely – definitely God inspired words. Thanks Anita.

The scriptures have a deep resonance within my spirit that other writing, no matter how beautiful or inspirational or poetic, does. Like a tuning fork held near a tuned guitar string will cause it to hum. I guess my spirit is “tuned” to that frequency, the note that scripture sings.

I also have noticed the distinct difference between those who immerse themselves in scripture, and those who don’t.

Yes, yes. This resonates with me. When I am away from the word, faith becomes tattered and torn. But when I read the Word of God, I find hope, healing, restoration, and remember Whose I am and Who He is. So much comfort in that book. Sometimes I read it, and really it is reading me. Thanks for writing.
