I have been to a few meetings of Overeaters Anonymous which uses the 12 Steps. I am having the hardest time understanding and “getting” it–but I like the idea of surrender of eating and everything else to God, and so am ploughing ahead with it, hoping it will click in time!

Reminds me of the 12 Steps of recovery–or rather, the first 3 Steps. You understand that it is impossible to recovery unless the person hits bottom first, right? (Hitting bottom means all kinds of things to all kinds of people. But–coming to the end of oneself. This is the short version of the first three steps: Step 1) I can’t. Step 2) God can. Step 3) Let Him. (I depend on this every day. One day at a time.) @chaplaineliza
