And sometimes, what we went thro then, comes in
to help us understand, sympathise and even assist others who may be going through something similar now. And at least then there is the glimpse of a silver lining to that dark cloud.

Anita, these lines are beautiful: “And I believe the past is not really past. It still lives; it can still be redeemed; diamonds can appear amidst the mire of the past, as diamonds are continually formed from the muck deep within the earth.” I’ve read something similar in a few other books and it seems the Spirit is making it clear that Jesus redeems EVERYTHING even the terrible, horrible, if we’ll deal with it and bring it to his light.

I’m going through this also. Thanks for perspective. My past is nearer than my teens and childhood that I am dealing with. I want that well of bitterness to remain dry, as I found it, finally, this winter after laughing at God’s snow rollers. But it is a well that longs for dribbling of past hurts. I cover it with Jesus blood. I’m not sure I can even write about the recent blows. I may some day and pray for grace that can heal others when I revisit it.
