The beauty of brokenness is that it brings you to the end of yourself, and so opens you up to the help of a higher power. Even competent people do better, I think, when we recognise the limits of our abilities and seek God's (sometimes magic) help.

My computer is misbehaving... it has just lost my comment. My comment was to question the concept of brokenness as being useful to today's people...which is a useful discussion point. Failures, losses and things that go wrong are learning points along the journey of life, and even if we do, indeed, eat the broken bread, it is bread which has been divided up to share, not destroyed...just as Jesus incarnate could o nly be in one place, but as resurrected we believe he can be with all of us everywhere... Sorry to be brief and hope not to soundbrusque but computer is behaving badly and can't explain further and more eloquently as have to rush off a=toa meeting!
