I think you said it all..."with God's help". As I grow in years, I have come to learn that God wants and needs to be in every aspect of our lives, not just in church. I think what folks are missing in all those diets is God...He needs to be at the center of everything. Something I really cherish from our Jewish brothers and sisters are their rules of daily practice dietary or otherwise because the act of obeying each and every one of them is another constant reminder that God is at the center of ALL things. As an orthodox person prepares the meal, they must select which set of plates to use, dairy or meat..and in that are reminded that God is at the center of that meal, is the giver/provider of the food. Putting God into our daily routine is an awesome way to give all these eating issues to Him. Thank you Anita for so eloquently writing this...well done, Child of God!

This is lovely Anita. I read this as one who is now free from food addiction and learning to love eating as a free beloved child of the living Father God. For years I focused on the eating itself, trying diets and new eating plans. But the truth is that my overeating was trying to fill a hole in my soul that only the intimacy of love from Father God would ever fill.

I especially loved this line "Eat when you are hungry, with celebration, with joy, with thanksgiving, in remembrance of me." I love the idea of eating when I hungry with joy and with celebration! When the God shaped hole in my life is filled with God then i am free to do just that!
