Walking away from the darkness is the best advice anyone ever gave to me and it turned my life around. I would always stay in these hurtful situations, pray for change, and continue to fight-the-good-fight. But I discovered something powerful...that walking away from an ugly situation, and staying away speaks volumes louder than staying engaged and seemingly screaming against the wind. It's like walking away from a car dealership when they haven't given you the deal you want. There is extreme power in walking away and creating distance between yourself and a dark situation.

Sometimes disengagement followed by deep prayer is the best medicine for a given situation. It is noticed and the courage to walk away gives others courage and a voice and the power of prayer is felt more keenly by those left behind. Only once you have regained the light, and refocused on the good, can a return be made to share the light with the others.

I am very thankful I stummbled onto this today, Anita. I, too, have struggled with this ugly side of my nature...so quick to be angry and offended at everyone except myself. Your words are truly anchored in Christ's example given by His life.
