The American blog I follow is The Internet Monk. Chaplain Mike's stuff is amazing to read. The discussion portion after the post can get pretty deep, theologically-speaking with folks sometimes squaring off (always very respectfully) over such things as 5-point Arminianism and relationship to Calvanism, etc. As a lifelong learner, I love this stuff, but like to follow a variety of blogs in order to gain a fuller spiritual experience.

Thanks for the compliment, LA! What's the American blog? Several of my favourite blogs are American. There is a definite difference between British and American blogs. I've lived in the US for 17 years and in the UK for 11, so I feel mid-Atlantic, equally at home with Brits and Americans.

Actually, I follow 3 British and one American regularly, but as todays post shows, there was one I really enjoyed....when he posted...but it was so erratic, I got out of the habit. I can't read huge, deep books, I fall asleep reading GK Chesterton and Bonhoffer...so this is the third leg of my study/action/pray stool. I stumbled upon you off of Beaker Folk's blog and I'm so glad I did. You're wonderful to read. The American one is super, super challenging and Beaker Folk are just plain fun, MadPriest keeps me entertained and informed and you are delightful and wonderful!

Lovely poem. Love "grimy, disused, the province of rules, and prim, prissy people . . . from those who haven't quite got it right"

So true. Great reminder -- especially when dealing with the human side of church and stuff.

I am loving your blog.
