Love the thoughts on prayer walking,I guess where people prefer to walk with God can vary with personalties or moods but I feel that God can set the scene for the best way to get our attention or put us in that place where we are so close to Him we hear and almost see Him at work in us and around us. My favourite place for walks is Dartmoor in Devon , I love the bleakness and isololation almost a wilderness walk , nobody else around but God.

DJV, perhaps we become more Christ centred, as we spend more time with him, learn more about him from Scripture, and ask him to reveal himself to us and also reveal to us the best way for us to seek him. This will vary according to our temperamental type and life circumstances.

Everything in the spiritual life happens slowly, as a general rule, so I guess we need to be patient with ourselves as we grow, baby step by baby step!

Thanks, Marcy. I agree.

If the self you're centered on is your true self, then you're truly centered -- and under God. If you're centered on a false self -- like those jockeying for power and status -- then you're not really centered at all. "Love your neighbor as yourself" means self-love -- being your true self -- is a high standard and not a low one.

How to be Christ centered instead of self centered? A sober reflection of self....will that set our intentions true or is it more basic more fundamental to our faith ?"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.....Love your neighbour as yourself" maybe this can vanquish self ?

Thanks. Ideally, I'd like to share mainly good news posts, but sometimes, mainly bad news posts illuminate the way for other people and help them see clearly--so there is a place for them too!
