Bev Murrill says
Anita, I love so many of those songs and poems you have quoted… love love love the Battle Hymn… and I love that I also have to get up at times in the night to write the words that flood my mind. If I leave it till morning, thinking that they are so wonderful, they’ll stay there… I’m desperately disappointed to find … they haven’t.
Now I know that if I would keep them, I must get up and write them down. Afterward, I can expand and develop on them, but I must bestir myself out of my warm bed if I want to exult in the beauty and wonder of words that came from me, but not from me at all.

Anita Mathias says
YES!! They are so clear when they come, and later it astonishes me to realise that I cannot remember the subject, leave alone the words.
I read that the opening lines of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s 100 Years of Solitude came to him while he was driving his family on holiday, and he turned right round and wrote it down.
Thank goodness!
